The Challenge

Since the beginning of time, the relationship between kids and animals has been undeniable. From a very early age, they learn all of their names, the sounds they make and the food they eat. So how do we make kids feel more connected to animals? How to help parents educate their kids about endangered species? How to help parents educate their kids about doing good and social impact?

Insights

Everybody remembers the Tamagotchi

The Tamagotchi is a hand-held digital pet, created in Japan. It was released in 1997 and it quickly became one of the biggest toy fads of the 1990s and early 2000s. Up until 2010, over 76 million Tamagotchis had been sold worldwide. As of 2017, over 82 million units have been sold. Tamazoo is a donation platform that connects kids and their parents to real-life animal organizations and their needs. Just like a Tamagotchi, each animal has a name, history, and evolution.

UI/UX

We designed 2 applications: The organization App and The Consumer App Any animal organization can download the ‘TamaZoo Organization App’. Once they do that, they can quickly onboard their animals and the needs they have. To pick which animals they want to adopt, feed and take care of, kids will be able to see and scroll through hundreds of animal profiles.

Meet Coco. He’s one of the 2,000 baby flamingos rescued after being abandoned in the South African drought.

Just like the regular Tamagotchi, the app sends notifications when the animals are hungry, sick or need a bath. Depending on their subscription model, kids can fulfill their needs.

Connecting those in need, to those who can give

The organization can upload from time to time updates and real pictures of their adopted animals on the notification panel.
