Kids, meet the faces of AI
Cognimates is a coding platform that teaches children from ages 7-14 Artificial Intelligence, through a series of playful characters.

The Challenge
To create characters that expressed anger, happiness, joy, and curiosity to make AI as easy to understand as possible to kids.
The Concept
In partnership with Cognimates MIT researcher heavyweight Stefania Druga, we designed three characters to be the faces of AI intros to kids. Meet Nary, iBall, and Ninjat.
Illustration
We channeled our inner children and imagined 6 characters, leading to a final selection of three characters. Each character was illustrated in various poses, expressing different feels.
